Oct. 3rd, 2025 02:57 pmI don't understand what makes some Borderlands 4 side missions replayable, while others not. This has been irking me in particular with The Next Quest Thing. Great mission, would love to replay it, can replay the one that came before it... but not it. Maybe there's something I'm missing about it that's glaringly obvious why I can't replay it? Or maybe it's some stupid nonsensical internal rule.
I've been playing some of the game in Japanese. Mostly side missions, because this is more to learn vocab, and I don't want to accidentally miss major plot details or anything because I don't have the skillset to fully understand. And I really wanted to do that one, because I'm a Rafa main and he was great in that mission and I love how he reacted to it, and Rafa's Japanese voice actor is so good with a similar exaggerated/dramatic kind of tone and I really wanted to hear his take on it. But again, can't replay.
I did manage to find an upload of someone playing through the mission, but with Vex as their Vault Hunter, which doesn't really help me much. Can't find any other uploads. Hypothetically, someone's played it in a livestream or a VOD or a longplay or something, but combing through videos in hopes of finding that one specific mission that they may not have even done is not my idea of a fun afternoon. I guess this means I'll have to do a full replay at some point.
(there's a post that says some missions aren't replayable because of 'super minor 1 off gags' ('and the like')... I don't get it. Is this a 'something about the mission makes it impossible to play again without screwing up the story/world/loot balance/etc' type thing? or is it just 'we didn't think it would be funny enough that anyone would WANT to replay it'? I see no good reason for the latter.)
